Fintech | UI/UX Design
The Goal
The objective was to apply VOX branding to the existing Omnicore Platform and enhance the overall user experience — turning a capable but rough product into something people could actually trust.
"Over a million people in the UK do not have a bank account — paying a poverty premium of approximately £480 per year as a result."
Problems with the Existing Design
Layout
Users couldn't view sort codes and account numbers on desktop — critical information buried by poor hierarchy.
Visual Hierarchy
Font weight and typeface inconsistencies made it impossible to identify what mattered most on each screen.
UI Consistency
Button labels weren't centred — small details that erode trust in a financial product.
Information Overload
The account summary showed too much at once — overwhelming users instead of guiding them.
Existing account desktop — identifying layout and hierarchy issues
Process
Starting with low-fidelity wireframes reviewed with the engineering team, I progressively refined through to high-fidelity designs — building a design system and grid behaviour guidelines to support consistent implementation.
Low-fidelity wireframes — reviewed with engineering before progressing
Design system — components, colour tokens, and typography
Grid behaviour — layout guidelines for consistent breakpoints
High-fidelity screens — production-ready
