Lead Designer with 15+ years of experience bringing clarity to complex product challenges — aligning user needs with business objectives. Based in Preston, UK, working remotely.
I'm obsessed with three things: reducing friction in the design-to-development handoff, building clarity into complex products, and helping designers and engineers collaborate without the usual tension.
Currently, I lead design at VenturEd Solutions, where I oversee four platforms and mentor a team of five designers. I've reduced design-to-code rework by 25–30% through better handoff protocols and documentation. At Community Brands, I drove a 78% increase in product engagement on the School Money Dashboard by embedding research rigor and optimised component systems into every decision.
I'm deliberately integrating AI tools, Claude and Figma Make, into my design workflow. For me, this isn't a trend; it's a genuine productivity shift. These tools help me think through problems faster, document decisions more clearly, and work smarter alongside my teams.
These aren't buzzwords. They're the things I measure my work against every day.
Kindness to humanity, treating people with genuine care.
Designing for business value, making work that moves the needle.
Every voice should be heard and considered.
Failing is the new learning, fail quick, learn quicker.
I'm a voracious reader, aiming for 14 books a year (always playing catch-up on my list). I'm obsessed with travel and have a lifelong mission: to visit every country on earth before I leave. It's ambitious, but I genuinely believe that seeing how people live, their cultures, and their perspectives makes you a better designer and a better human.
At my core, I believe in the power of kindness and human connection. If I had a magic wand, I'd wish for a world where everyone treated each other with genuine care and could truly appreciate and celebrate our differences instead of fear them. I think good design, and good life, starts there.
Being a father has changed how I see everything. It's given me a deeper sense of purpose and patience, and it reminds me daily why the work I do matters. When I'm not designing, parenting, or planning our next family trip, you'll find me training at the gym, cycling through the hills on cold nights, diving to see what's beneath the surface, or lost in a good book. Everything shapes how I see the world and the problems I solve.
Interested in collaborating or just want to say hello? I'm always open to new conversations.
